What is Operational Excellence.

Operational Excellence ("OE") is about shifting our goal setting framework from output to outcomes. It's a documented work pattern to align with our operating system, objective and key results, and culture. OE is an escapsulation of these three aspects and gives us company-wide alignment as well as feedback loops. Operational Excellence invites to focus on what really matters.

Why Operational Excellence?

Operational Excellence surfaces what is important. It's not magic. It's an infinitly repeatable process that we get better and better at overtime. It answers two key questions, "Where do we want to go" and "How will we know when we get there?", along will providing the primatives possible to answer those two questions. Operational Excellence supports Leaders, Managers, and Teams to accomplish audiacious goals by empowering WeSalute to Focus, Align, Commit, Track, and Stretch ("F.A.C.T.S."). Further, it provides a high standard of care to fellow WeSalute Team Members and alignment with our WeSalute Culture.

WeSalute Operating System

The WeSalute Operating System is the single-source of truth for WeSalute Documentation. It is a product that is delivered to WeSalute Team Members that has a high standard of care given to it. It's design to document... TODO 🛠️

Each OS Doc has the following authors:

  • Directly Responsible Individual ("DRI")
  • Backup ("Backup")
  • Sponsor ("Sponsor")

These roles are essential for maintaining fresh operations, achieving business continutiy, and decreasing the overall stress of WeSalute Operations.

WeSalute Objectives and Key Results

🛠️ As measured by these three things.

  • OKRs help Leaders focus on teh goal most critical to their vision. Providing a framework to articulate their vision in a clear, concise, and practical manner. Good OKRs help everyone make better decisions by focusing teams on the top priorites.

  • Managers are directly in charge of day-to-day operations, and guide their team in the use of resources to execute a vision. OKRs help Managers align their team's goals tot he organization's mission and top-line Objectives and to track their team's progress every step of the way. Manager's use OKRs to achieve operational excellence.
