WeSalute is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment for all employees, including those who are pregnant or dealing with related medical conditions. This policy aligns with the Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act to ensure that our remote workforce receives fair treatment and necessary accommodations.

Scope

This policy applies to all WeSalute employees who are pregnant or dealing with related medical conditions, irrespective of their role, level, or tenure within the company. It encompasses all aspects of employment, including remote work.

Accommodations

WeSalute is dedicated to making reasonable accommodations for employees affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions. Reasonable accommodations may include, but are not limited to:

  • Flexible work schedules to accommodate medical appointments.
  • Temporary modification of tasks or job responsibilities.
  • Remote work arrangements or adjustments to existing remote work setups.
  • Provision of ergonomic equipment to ensure a comfortable and safe workspace.
  • Permission for additional breaks, as needed.

Requesting Accommodations

Employees seeking accommodations under this policy are encouraged to notify their supervisor and PeopleOps as soon as they become aware of the need for adjustments. Requests for accommodations will be treated confidentially, and the company will engage in a collaborative process to determine reasonable solutions.

Documentation Requirements

Employees requesting accommodations may be required to provide documentation from a healthcare professional outlining the specific accommodations needed. WeSalute will maintain the confidentiality of such documentation, sharing it only with individuals involved in the accommodation process.

Non-Retaliation

WeSalute strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against employees who request accommodations under this policy. Any instances of retaliation will be promptly addressed, and appropriate action will be taken.

Training and Awareness

WeSalute is committed to providing training to all employees, supervisors, and PeopleOps staff to raise awareness about the Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act and this policy. Regular updates will be provided to ensure ongoing compliance and understanding.

Policy Review, Disciplinary, & Responsibility

Policy Review

This policy will be periodically reviewed to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with relevant legislation. WeSalute reserves the right to amend this policy as needed, with notice provided to all employees.

Disciplinary Action

Employees who violate this policy may face disciplinary consequences in proportion to their violation. WeSalute management will determine how serious an employee’s offense is and takes the appropriate action.
